…I find myself without any subject to write upon. This whole “daily on-line journal” thing was not a good idea. But I don’t want to let my boring life defeat me!
I was really down earlier today–the part of it I was awake for, anyway–but after going to my brother’s place to watch this week’s “Agents of SHIELD” (I don’t have TV reception of any kind) and then going to get cat food and check the local game store, I feel much more up. (Despite how very not “up” the episode was, and the fact that neither Target nor the game store had the game I wanted to get.)
I’ve been all up and down financially today, too. Yesterday I found out that I had some “cash-back” things I could turn on for my debit card, sort of like coupons that happen on the bank’s end instead of in the store, and since one of them expires on Saturday, I went to the store in question today to see if there was anything I wanted to buy. I ended up spending $100, of which I’ll get $5 back. Fiscally unwise. (Though I was pretty much guaranteed to spend $50 of it sooner or later anyway, and the other $50…well, that was just a lucky find, and not one I would likely have passed up under any circumstances, so…) Then, surprisingly, I got a refund from my medical insurance for a surprisingly large amount, for no apparent reason. (I’ve only scanned the letter that came with it–I’ll give it a more thorough reading later–and it didn’t make much sense to me.) It’s like it’s their way of thanking me for never going to the doctor. Though that’s probably not it. (In fact, about a year ago they actually started sending me this annoying computer telephone thing pestering me about how long it had been since I went to see a gynecologist. That felt downright intrusive. Why would they care? After all, they make the maximum amount of money off me if I never go to see any kind of doctor.)
I ought to go over my paper for tomorrow one more time tonight, but I doubt that I will.
Ooh! That’s right! There was something I wanted to research for this year’s NaNo novel! I should go do that before I forget!
