I’m not feeling well; I think my parents may have given me the flu when I went to their place to watch this week’s “Doctor Who”.
And–with the need to get the new version of “Ilios” out pronto, now that someone has downloaded the old version and needs the update–I’ve discovered that the Kindle version doesn’t like accented characters. They show up on the .pdf version, but when I looked at it in the Kindle version, the accented characters came out nonsensical. Urgh.
I’ve employed a possible fix, but now I have to boot up the iPad to see if it actually fixed it. And while I’m at it, I need to download the Apple e-reader software and check out its version, in case it has any weird problems like the Kindle version does.
I really should have checked the entire novel start to finish before I published it, but I was so desperate to start getting feedback that I just scanned the .pdf briefly to see if it looked like it was okay! And then, of course, I couldn’t get anyone to download it anyway…
I’d say “it’s just been that kind of year” only that wouldn’t do it justice. More like “it’s just been that kind of lifetime.”
