That’s the noise I was hearing as I walked across part of my lawn to bring in the trash can and recycling bin today.

That’s how much rain we’ve gotten in the last 24 hours. The upper layer of the ground is saturated. And after midnight tonight, it’s supposed to drop below freezing, and stay there for several days.
So we’re going to end up with a nice, thick layer of muddy ice with a little grass sticking out of it. Lovely.
