This is, essentially, an on-line journal of this last year before I turn 40.
I had originally hoped that it would be a diary of my attempts to find a man and finally enter into a romantic relationship, but…so far that hasn’t been happening, in part due to the fact that graduate school is a worse strain than I was expecting.
Mostly, what one can expect to find here is vacillation between me talking about my classes and me talking about Greek myths, mostly the Trojan War. These topics actually ended up dove-tailing last semester, since my final paper–which was a dress rehearsal for my Master’s Thesis–was about the way the perceptions of the Trojan War myth changed as society changed over the last three thousand years. (Well, more like 2500, really; everything before that is the “starting point.”) I also talk about my attempts to write fiction…but these days that’s all Greek myth-related, too.
So far, I’ve mostly managed to avoid talking about most of my weirder hobbies. Though I guess they’ve come up from time to time. (Lest anyone get any creepy ideas, my “weirder” hobbies are anime, manga, video games (primarily JRPGS), Doctor Who and toy collecting. Weird was perhaps the wrong word to use; “niche” might be more accurate. (And when I say Doctor Who, btw, I mean the original show far more than the new one. My favorite Doctor is still Sylvester McCoy, and probably always will be.))
And yes, this rambling insanity is very much what you can expect to see here.
I’ve made a list of what I consider to be the highlights of my posts. You can check it out here.
